A cautionary (DVLA) tale
I get the occasional newsletter from Hagerty regarding the Classic Car scene, and a recent one may have some bearing on those of us who might have to be dealing with DVLA regarding re-registration of a modified vehicle.

I took my wife to the museum on Monday 2nd Jan as a special treat! (No - REALLY!) She loved it as always and, after our tour, enjoyed reminiscing with the staff about her Dad 's bikes in the 1950s.
This maybe a cunning plan or just plain wrong, but here goes. I had my electronic ignition blow up on me this last summer and this led to an awful lot setting the white dots through the rotor in the old points position, checking for 28 B.T.D.C

I noticed a few items I purchased are listed as copper/asbestos I’m presuming that they are not asbestos, but a modern replacement?
I have bought an Atlas engine ( I think ) with a head that I can't identify.

Does anyone recognise the fork conversion on my 850 Mk2A commando.
The fork top nuts have a removable centre, which exposes what appears to be an adjustment screw - presumeably for damping.
I'm confused about how to set the auto advance unit on my Electra project. I would assume it has to be positioned correctly on the camshaft, but I can find no information on how to set it up. Anyone able to help?
Thank,
