I have a 1961 ES2 rebuilt and bought from old parts.
Can someone please tell me the resistance of the correct ignition coil as I think mine is drawing too many amps - 5 amps with the engine not running.?
Thanks
Has anybody tried widening the gap in the lever at the pinchbolt to get better clamping ?
I see my 16H has no washers under the spindle nuts. None are listed in the parts list. But lots of singles have them. I assume owners have added them in the belief that every nut deserves a washer. Is this a known question?
I am trying to find stainless fastener suppliers, my particular search at the moment is for 5/16" BSF stainless socket cap bolts/screws but will need other sizes later.
Hope you can help?

Hiya - I'm having a standard bore cyl taken out for a +0.020" piston. I can't find in any info what the gap should be between the cylinder bore and +0.020"piston. Any info would be appreciated thanks.

Gary
I am in the process of resuscitating 1971 bike which, when I acquired it, hadn't run for about 3 years although was running when put away. As the PO is my brother in law I believe this to be true.
I’m busy improving my garage workshop and am looking for something to improve the rough but level concrete floor.
I have an electronic rev counter off a Rotary that I want to fit on my Atlas fitted with a twin output coil, also has electronic ignition. It's simple Negative coil feed and earth but doesn't work.
Thanks very much to Richard for helping me sort out the valve timing on my 16h. Richard's instructions seemed very simple, straight-forward and easy - I don't know why I couldn't get it from the books etc!
Should there always be some oil allowed to seep into the sump whilst a dry sump lubricated motorcycle is not being used?
I checked the ignition timing on my Pazon SureFire equipped ‘72 Commando only to discover that the previous owner had set the ignition timing to be circa 40 degrees maximum advanced.
Hello
First post on the Forum. Does anyone have a Norton 500T side stand for sale? Alternatively does anyne near Preston Lancashire have a bike I could look at and perhaps make one if I cannot find one?
I have just restored a 1937 16h but can't get it to fire! The ignition seems fine (good spark) but the plug does not get wet at all. petrol is definately coming through to the carb but not being sucked into the chamber.
Hi, I’m in the process of renewing the complete exhaust system on my 56 99, it seems pretty straightforward although I have a couple of questions that hopefully someone can answer. How tight do the locking rings need to be?
Looks like the "new" 961 is imminent....
I was sad to learn of the death, yesterday, of Phil Read MBE. He had a long association with Nortons and many successes. He was one of the very few who became a World Champion in 125cc, 259cc and 500cc classes. He was probably the last World Ch
My headlamp stopped working on low beam so assumed blown bulb. I ordered a 55/60w halogen one as replacement. Turns out it was a dodgy switch bulb was ok. 12 volts system

Does Notton Dominator 88SS comes with factory original Single Carburettor? If yes then what is the correct Carburettor code? my bike fitted with 376/80 code Carburettor
I have been searching for the right and correct handlebars for my Norton Dominator with Slimline frame. Most commonly the straight Handlebars fitted but I do come across low rise Handlebars fitted too. Which one is factory original?
Just a heads up to inform anyone interested , there is an informal (pretty unregulated!) gathering of classic vehicles in Offham village on the 23rd October . Not a good place to go by car as it gets very congested.
Can anyone tell me where I could get an oil supply isolation valve with the switch to earth the magneto so as the bike cannot be started when the oil isolated.
Hi all
I'm no expert but feel this hub should not be so banged up. I'm thinking of replacing it.
Harness tidy up to prepare for the Tri Spark Rectifier/Regulator.
All the old electrical components now removed and ready for the wire tidy up!
Evening All,
After more help please.....
