Today we went out to Vintage Tyres near Beaulieu.
Lucky for me they are pretty close by, but worth knowing they operate a mail order service too (with free postage)!
Here is a picture of my two Norton Commando's 850 and 961, as you can see they do have a lot in common. They have done a good job in keeping the looks very similar.

Hello all, I have a 1962 slimline 99 and have removed all parts from the timing side and according to the parts list there should be a Sealing washer for timing side bearing Part No T2008 and a Backing plate for pinion Part No T2007.

I'm a little confused re: my 1937 16H speedo. I have a tank top instrument panel - the speedo bezel is 3.25ins diameter but the hole is 3.17ins. So the instrument sits up by about 3/16 ins. Too much for any sort of gasket.

On first starting and revving I get a lot of popping and uneven running at about 3-4000 revs.
I am trying to contact Sandy Topen (Alexander Topen?) who I believe is a well known expert in Norton circles. He owned the 40M Manx I have aquired for many years .. possibly from the mid 1960,s to mid 1990,s.
