Re: Featherbed frame number.

Hello, I have recently acquired a Norton rolling chassis with a Honda 4 engine "squeezed in".

Luckily there has been no alteration or cutting of the frame and my intention is to separate the engine and hopefully get a replacement Norton engine to start again.

My question concerns the frame number which is 64443. My research leads me to the conclusion it is a 1955 frame...... Would you agree with this, and would I be able to find out which engine would originally in the frame?

Many thanks, John

The model number for the frame was stamped above the frame number. So it could be a Model 88 stamped with an M122 which isa 500cc twin. This number is stamped on the lug at the back of the frame that the swinging arm attaches to.

Thanks for the information. It is K122, 64443.

Could you also advise on the model the fibreglass tank in the photograph could have been on.

Thanks, John

Looks like one of the aftermarket tanks sold for triton builders by Unity Equipe.
