How do you tell a genuine nos hepolite piston from a new hepolite been sent some sold as nos but not convinced they are all they have is 6.92 on the inside but with ae rings

My guess is that they are JCC pistons from Taiwan. They supply most of the Japanese car industy. I'm more than happy with the ones in my Commando and with the supplied piston rings, compression is just too much to kick over after it is warmed up without putting the bike on the stand.
