big four primary case problem

Forums

Can anyone help? I need the dimensions between centres, of crankshaft, gearbox mainshaft (taking into account side to side movement (about 1/2â)) and footrest holes for an inner primary case to suit my 53 Big four rigid teles. This will help mewhen scouring jumbles for one.

Thanks Martin

Hi Mike, thanks for the reply. I have to admit, I never thought to look at the parts list for model comparison. It seems Model 1 (big four) and 16H are the same, as such the butchered item i have is the same as yours - going off the colour - I'd say WD 16H. My big 4 has a T engine fitted but I wouldnt have said that would make any difference. However looking at a picture of a 53 ES2, the footrest does look to be nearer to the level of the crank than either yours or mine. So having the T engine in could mean I need an ES2 case. You are right the cost would br too much, but if you could send me dimensions (as in attached sketch) I'd be grateful. The sketch shows the dimensions I ideally need - it will be interesting to compare you sizes.thanks again, Martin
