I’ve been told that the engine to frame numbers of the Commando went out of sequence in 1975 . Is this true, or just a way of selling a no original bike? Thanks Mick.

Whenever I work on my bikes I seem to spend a lot of time drifting back and forth looking for the "right" spanner/socket..
I have a 1963 Norton Electra.
One of the breaker point pillar bolts has broken off.
I removed the remains, filled the hole, and have ordered new studs.
Question is what size tap do I use to rethread the hole?
Hello, back in the Spring of 2019 I bought a 1946 Model 18 in British Columbia, Canada that had sat, largely unused, for many decades.
Can anyone please advise how best to oil the swinging arm? The oil nipple is much smaller than any I have come across before so none of my grease (oil) guns fit.

Just been reading the P100 instruction manual and spotted a reference to 11 3/8" between mounting holes, frame and swing arm. Research I had previously seen on here says 12.7 or 12.9".

Im after a pair of +30 pistons for my 650 ss . The barrel I have was bored to +30 bore by the previous owner but I realise there arn't many makers of +030 pistons.
This bike shows up on the DVLC website as last taxed in 2006. I bought it from Bill Bunn M/c in W London around 1970 as an Atlas, but changed the engine. DVLA now list it as 600cc.

Electrics is still a black art to me - although I am nearing build completion and must decide to stay with 6v or go to 12v.
Have tried to refit the cylinder head on my jubilee after replacing the gasket.
My 1948 ES2 won't tick over with the ignition fully advanced.
I have discovered the gearbox sprocket on my 1959 model, is very hard to turn ( chain off ).
My Mk 3 Commando suffers very unpleasant vibration below 3000 rpm. I have heard also of other Mk 3 owners having similar problems.

If I was to purchase a new tga manx frame would a model 50 engine and amc gearbox fit with the standard model 50 engine plates or would I require custom made plates.

The other day I had a Malcolm moment when attempting to change the oil filter (long story short: I was turning the filter anti-clockwise, *but* looking from the filter mount towards the filter … hence tightening it, not slackening).
I am in the process of restoring a '71 Roadster. At the moment it has a fibre glass tank which is rotten and the PO had painted the tank and side panels in a disgusting combination of bright blue with yellow splashes.
Can someone please tell me if a 1957 Norton Dominator 99 has a magneto ignition system or coil ignition?
