On a well-known online auction site, there is currently for sale a very tidy looking bike described as a Norton 650SS Domiracer.
Hi,
I noticed a slight ticking from the timing side of my Mk2a Commando that was bothering me for some time so I decided to investigate the cause as nothing appeared amiss on cursory inspection.
When I first bought by 1967 Norton 650SS it idled and ran perfectly with no signs of oil leaks. Once I had insured it and took it for a brief ride all of that changed.
The local post box has been repainted in what looks to me to be the perfect shade of red !. Done by contractors they used Romec Post Office red BS 538 made by Cromadex .
Looking for the pressed steel cover that fits over the kickstart return Spring on pre 57 laydown gearboxes. Mine seems to have been removed several times with the aid of a sledge hammer and it ruins the appearance of the box.
Hello, I was made a present of a Navigator which was taken apart for restoration some 25 yrs ago. I have no knowledge of these lightweights but have restored many singles over the years.
Hi all, looking for a bit of storage advice.
...today, as Facebook has reminded me.
Did anyone else have their photo taken alongside HMS Victory when the NOC national rally visited in '89' or '90 and then find their photo splashed across the local paper ?
Forgive me for asking a dumb question, but how do I download the RH magazine so the text is normal size (say12 point font size) and all the text is on one page?
Is this about say bringing your bike in a van or on a trailer from UK to EU?
I tried the internet to find info, to find out if it applies to EU residents as well, but no luck so far.
I am rebuilding a Navigator gearbox, can anyone please help me as what is the right sleeve gear fitted to an early gearbox, because the one fitted in my box does not look right (see photos) to mutch play
Hey guys,
Restoring my ‘66 Jubilee which was fitted with what I think are referred to as ‘crash bars’.
I am the new owner of a Dominator 99 (Having briefly owned one in the 1970s) - some (very) basic questions regarding oil types and availability of:
* Engine oil
* Gearbox oil
*Primary chain case oil
All members,
I understand from a non-NOC friend that Ken Sprayson has died after going into hospital and possibly contracting Covid 19 there, although this has not been confirmed.
I'm going to need a new pair soon, and would like up-to-date info on experiences with various options.
Ls,
I recently received Roadholder 406 October 2021 in which an article was published with the title as above. I'm always curious to learn anything about the Norton Commando so I quickly read the article.
I'm still trying to split the crankcases on my Navigator. I'm sure I've removed all of the necessary bolts - does the crankshaft pinion need to be removed first? If not it must be the old gasket and cement holding it together.
I'm looking for a little help with an admin error with the DVLA.
I have a Norton ES2 1949 and an accompanying V5C. All details shown on the V5C are correct (registration, engine number, frame number etc).
Sorry, guys - my NOC Tech Advice column contribution is severly restricted for a month or so. I have sold my Flat & am currently 'sofa-surfing' at a friends house.
Can anyone suggest a specialist engineering company to rebuild a 1973 850 Commando engine in the south/southwest of England?
After buying a new pilot jet size 30 to replace the 25 that appears too small , I find the 30 is far smaller than the 25 ! .looks like I will be making my own . What exactly does the 30 represent . perhaps 3 thou ?.
I am faced with trying to repair/refurbish the original chrome/mild steel rear mudguard on my 1972 750 Commando or replace with a new stainless version from AN. Both routes have advantages and disadvantages but can anyone tell me please how clos

Hi All,
Just thought I would provide a heads up of a possible scam, otherwise if legitimate, a absolute bargain may be had. Being as we are all keen on Nortons, perhaps a word of caution before leaping into this one.
Hi. I’ve de-rusted the inside of my petrol tank so I’ve a nice bare steel surface now. However, the bike isn’t ready to have the tank fitted yet.
I have just returned from the Indianos Northern Spain rally and on the return was experiencing serious tank slapping on my 1976 Mk3 Commando when braking for a roundabout etc.
Following a pretty serious racing accident I lost most of my (Somewhat limited.) facilities, including my lathe.
Also it appears that over the years most of my contacts have retired or worse..
