So exactly how screwed am I?
Apologies for the clickbait title.
I've been working on an early 650ss engine with a 99 barrel and have had a few false dawns. I've been working on carbs, clutch, oil lines and rotor/stator up to now.

Every so often I stumble across something good on Youtube and here's one of them, a discussion about good engine flow characteristics which mentions the Commando engine a lot. Enjoy!
After many years as a Norton owner - Commandos for 20+ years and a 1952 ES2 for the last seven - I'm thinking about going for something lighter and have always fancied an Electra (coincidentally my wife's name). I completely rebuilt the ES2 when I
Hi, I bought a 1930 model 20 and have had a few teething problems. One thing I noticed was that the engine breather to the rear of the crankcase appears to have some bits missing.
I recently bought a set of clutch rubbers for my Dominator.
I have been searching for a new wiring loom for my '54 Dominator 88, but can not find one prior to the '55 model. Since there are only a few differences, between the two years, are the '54 & '55 the same?,
It's been a blast and a worthwhile effort to replace gaskets, fit a new pcv breather and an anti-sump valve. The light rain of oil coming from this '71 Norton has decreased to an errant drop now and again. (Still trying to find that...) When I
Help! I'm slowly recommissioning a 650ss which seems to have been cobbled together from the parts bin somewhat over the past 60 odd years. I'm also battling my lack of experience with Norton's this being my first restoration of a Dommie.
Hello, please can you share thoughts about table lifts. I am looking at Sealey 365 or Clarke CML3 to lift a Commando.
Hi everyone,
To all who are coming along tomorrow, have a safe journey to Welford.
What's the possibility of adding a suffix to members names to indicate their location, country and state/county.
Good news : the rally bar for the International Rally in Sweden 2023 just arrived and will be available at the International NOC - Rally in Spain !!!!!
The story behind :
Gents,
I recently picked up a spare upright gearbox from a local Brit bike dealership. The owner could not recall what it came off but had been laying around for years...it cleaned up well.
Friend of mine visited a couple of motor museums recently, and has sent me this pic.
I'm now the owner of a Featherbed Inter to add to my woes.
It's come to me as a basket case but with plenty of technical support and history from its previous owner.
Hi my mate has just purchased a 600 dominator and joined the club but is not yet conversant with the procedure to post a problem so ive done it for him.
I believe my recently acquired Domminator 99 would have originally had a connection to the air box behind the battery but it just has an open carb without even a bellmouth.
Hi,
I have been lucky enough to inherit a 1960 500 single (wide featherbed) from an uncle, which he bought from brand new.
It might sound like heresy, but my knee is knackered, is there an electric start kit I can fit?
I hope to ride down from Devon - anyone else hoping to be there?

Just wondering if there are any members in the Exeter area. I've just picked up a navigator and would appreciate local support.
So, having had a binding problem with my front brake in the end I decided to bite the bullet and buy & fit the RGM master cylinder upgrade. Doing the machining tested the capabilities of my little set up but I got there in the end.
The dust cover on the rear master cylinder keeps being damaged by the kickstart pinch bolt head.
I've replaced this several times, but now wonder if there are any tips on how to prevent this.
Has anyone writen one?
Hello again,
Would anyone have an old (upright gearbox kick start shaft) laying around, mine is pretty knac
I have managed to break the fuel tap on my 62 Navigator. I have sheared the end that attaches the brass valve to the tap. I will try and repair or make a new brass valve piece.
I have a fully restored carb by Martyn Bratby ,beutifully machined . The issue is that its a 389 with a 1 1/8" bore . The standard carb is 1 1/16" . Its not a simple change as other components will need a little work.
