Dear all, I would appreciate some guidance with this one.
It's not very easy to see from the attached photo but I can't turn the welded adjuster nut because it fouls the big axle washer.
We're all familiar with the two recommended torques for tightening Commando cylinder head bolts.
And it's always possible to hear that there are still leaks here and there.

Can someone confirm for me that the angled end of the guard faces to the rear of the bike, if it does fit that way around.

hello, i thought i would just bore you to death with a couple of photos i took when i repaired my model 7 tool box in the covid years. doing it stop me going around the bend.
Does anyone know how the tiny 3mm throttle cable nipples should be attached? The cable seems too small to birdcage and solder. If I just dip it in the solder pot it might come off and go in the engine. What about crimping them?

Metzler RoadTec 01 do they same sizing.
I'm more interested in grip than tyre life, do they stick better than the Avons?

With a Commando ,you get used to vibration issues, issolastics or not. I find that you go round the bike on a regular basis tightening up Jubilee clips.
How do I remove the ratchet from the crankshaft?Is it screwed on?

Up until this weekend I was aware of 3 styles of cylinder head fitted to ES2, 19R/S, 50 during the fifties. Circa 1950 it was still the iron head. Around 1955, possibly a little earlier, there was the Al-fin head.

I've just noticed a steady drip of oil from the kickstarter spindle.
I am (I hope) close to getting my Inter speedo but there's a delay sorting out the hub gear.
There was a thread a few months ago regarding tensioning Dommie timing chains, and I offered the use of a cutaway timing cover that I had. I said at the time it was in (deep!) storage, but it is now to hand.
Keen eyed readers will notice that I have posted here before on problems with my 1972 750 Commando crankshaft. The one which came with the bike was ruined beyond repair (QV).
