Hello all fake or repro parts are being sold on eBay these are slimline mudguard sold as wideline mudguards and these mudguards are not completed there is No bridge peace where the stays fit and No wiring tags to hold the wiring for rear tail ligh
My Commando is wired positive earth as normal.

Can anybody please help by clarifying how the small non return valve that sits in the orifice adjacent to the oil pump feed bush is meant to be retained.
I've noticed that a number of brand new unregistered commandos and dommies are starting to appear on the net at a great saving of over £2K on list price, which seems tempting.
fiddling about with photo sizes trying to make them smaller to add on the site. anyway while messing about i copied one of me photos off the site i had put on a bit ago and then pasted it to my desktop.
After finding a couple of my 12v sealed batteries dried out,dead and sulphated I'm thinking that an earlier intervention with some top up water may have saved them. Now looking at my 6v Burlen which has sealed ports under the name strip.
Now the ES2 story approaches it's end. All parts are now purchased and what's left is a bit of paint, assembly and then the MoT.
on my es2 engined 19s framed mongrel i am just placing the parts back on it to see what fits most of which is none standard.
I know it's this year we are celebrating the 50th anniversary of the Commando....but is it not also the 70th anniversary of the Dominator.
The first ones were built and shown November 1948.
Just a thought.
