My Commando is wired positive earth as normal. I have just purchased some heated grips which are negative earth, can I just connect these direct to the battery with the live to the positive terminal and earth wire to negative terminal without causing problems. Many thanks John.

As long as you follow the rule red to positive and black to negative you won't go far wrong. That worked for me with Oxford grips and they are a good piece of kit since fitting a better controller (V8.1 i recall) I should think the controller will be polarity sensitive and while it way have some protection built in, there is no point in testing it unnecessarily.
