hello as anyone had ago with these rear wheel cover rivets there very hard to drill and will break drill bits, even under a press drill with a cobalt broach drill fitted or is there another way I am all ears, yours Anna J

I am attempting to repair the speedo on the 67 Atlas The head is a 1600 one and I need to know what ratio the drive gearbox should be.Its a bit more complicated by the fact that its a 19" rear wheel, I think this was std for Uk bikes but the yanks
There's a small crack in the outer cover of my laydown box. It's against one of the threaded holes into which the bolt screws that holds the inspection cover.
I have purchased a new big end for my ES2 500 cc single norton engine number. 41050 4. 79 X 100 but it is too small for connecting rod E4099. It has a 1" 3/64 size pin and requires one with a pin 1" 17/64 . Can any one help?

The small springs on my auto-advance unit are tired. I canât find a part# in my parts book. Can anyone help here?
I'm making progress with my teardown slowly. I'm practicing on a damaged crankcase so when I move to my primary I should have a feel for it.
The traditional Atlas bars look fine but drag the cables over the fork nuts. Has anyone fitted bar raisers ?and were the fixing centers ok?.What are the threads? longer fixings needed.Plenty on E-bay for modern bikes.
Hi All. This is my second year as a member and i was hoping to get a factory record certificate for my commamdo.
What a great choice of venue for our turn up meet nice roads and a fine pint at The Royal Oak Midhurst well done chaps.
Being a bit tall, with long legs, the Commando has always been a tight fit for me, and with the passing of years it is becoming more of a problem as hips and knees are starting to complain much quicker than they used to.

On dismantling the drive side (trying to find why it's back to not wanting to go into neutral) I find the following (laydown box mid fifties):
On my 1965 Electra I am on about my 3rd strip down to try and get it to work. The starter motor appears to spin ok not so the engagement to the engine.

I am a newbie to Nortons and have just bought a 1960 Slimline 600cc 99 (alternator model) and am giving it a going over. It appears to have a 1959 head with splayed exhaust ports, as shown on page 20 of Roy Bacons 'Norton Twins' book.
I fear I am entering a minefield here.
I have stripped the forks on the 1961 ES2 I have recently bought, and found that some joker has welded the one damper tube together from two separate halves (why, I don't know).
Several owners have reported issue with the above, the clue is in the title. How do you know you have used the wrong fluid.
This is a very nagging and ghostly problem for me on a 1949 plunger es2.
I have a hybrid 88 which started life as a single then had the motor replaced. Other parts have been added from maybe older doms ( model 7?)

further to my previous conversations I am searching for an affordable replacement for my 1972 750 commando gearbox shell .
I have a problem with aftermarket silencers for late ES2s. They all seem to be baffled "incorrectly" and are very loud. I think it is a cost saving method by the manufacturers. Does anyone know who makes a correctly baffled silencer?
