Been awhile since I removed the silentbloc bushes from the swing arm, seem to remember lots of smoke and fire, ok refitting how do you do it at home no press.
Could you sell your 1950s etc number plate, and if you did what would the Dvla give you in its place.
it’s not that I plan to do it.
My December issue of Roadholder (issue 396) has not arrived by 6th December, whereas some members received theirs on 1st December; why the delay?
Looks like the title 'Donington Nortons' needs another revision?
Can I ask if anyone on this forum has adjusted the valve clearance on their 961 and how did it go.?
I have had some advice from a Norton agent who said "Don't bother trying to do it, just leave them alone they will be ok".
Found some pics of my old mk 3 commando in the 90s and was just wondering if it’s still around.
hi, i am currently rebuilding my 1974 850 mk2a commando. i am confused whether i should fit a base gasket to the barrel. when i originally stripped the engine there was not one fitted.
This bit of a quote was lifted from a face book page. Were there different length rods available back then or now?
"this one 850 is 75 percent done by Norman white but I have long conrods to help a bit , good luck with the engine build"

I was able to watch Chris Grimmett's funeral online today. The first time I have ever done such. The site did not inform how many others were doing the same but it certainly saved trying to squeeze a lot of people into a small space.
I'm in the process of trying to repair a 1927 Model 18 petrol tank which suffered from petrol being left in it for over 7 years by the previous owner (because of dementia) and found over 60 holes in the bottom of the tank! I've been through the p

Hello Andy. Looking for some advice , i have some early 350 barrels with the recessed heads and the guys at norville have sourced me some new standard cylinder liners.
Need a pair of these for my slimline Dommie, have drawn them up to suit my bike, lasercut and folded in 3mm stainless is coming out at £100 for 15 pair. Don’t need the other 14 pairs but happy to sell them on for £10pr if anyone’s interested.
Under Heavy Twins, there's some comments about carb icing being worse with alcohol fuels. I found this the other day in a 1934 'Automobile Engineer'. And when ethanol in fuel is discussed the topic of Cleveland Discol often crops up.
Good to see our electrical guru getting a good write up in this months “The Classic Motorcycle”. Nice to put a face to the voice!

There appears to be two readily available options, and I would like to hear back from any members who have used either of the above company products, is one better than the other - say - from porting perspective or is there anything else out there
Can anybody recommend a suitable acid that will remove fine scale and discolouration after annealing a copper gasket ? I appreciate that I could use a fine wire wool but I have found that it is not particularly effective.

I removed my exhaust valves. One of them has signs of surface damage, as if there has been some pick-up of specs of iron or steel.
As an aside to the straightening post regarding the Dommie footrest I thought i would relate my technique for straightening Commando footrest arms after correcting the very wonky looking arms on a customers Mk3.
Having just got my Dommie 99’s left-hand footrest powder coated, I’ve discovered that it’s bent. (Oh, b*gger!) Can these footrests be straightened?
Are 1971 and 1972 Norton Commando frames the same.
Many thanks
My 88 is 1955 what is the correct box for the year. Also what box is better than the other.
Anyone know if you can strip the black finish from the bores with chemicals or would you need to remove mechanically, if so any ideas on the best way to achieve a nice finish prior to repainting. Thanks
Just a quick one, can you check progress of parts ordered or do you just have to wait. Cannot see a way of checking parts I have ordered maybe looking in the wrong place.
