The last two sets of rubbers bought appear to have been made with the bore holes too small causing them to split in no time. My current pair have resisted all efforts to fit, heating with hot water, lubricant ,big hammer etc. The same part
I have a 1935 CS1 which I am gradually rebuilding.
I am glad to say that it is very original with the correct engine, gearbox and frame nos.
The article in the latest “Roadholder” on noise reduction leaves me hoping you guys will put something on this website about your experiences.

The Webb forks on my 20's Model 18 require some minor straightening.
Can anybody recommend someone they have used recently and who has done a good job ?
Thanks.
I am looking to sell my '75 850 mk3 ES. The current financial situation dictates I'm afraid. I have totally stripped the bike and rebuilt it after its arrival back from the States several years ago. I have only done 93 miles so the bike needs
Hi,
Does anyone know what the balance factor was for these early 16H engines?
I'm currently rebuilding the engine and I measured the balance factor as 47% for my 1937 16H.
Hi
Sorry for the flurry of posts recently but I'm only just getting into the bike after riding it this year.
I do appreciate the responses but it seems that many did not read carefully my stated problem ! The rocker box is NOT fitted, hence any issues with rockers or the valve lifter mechanism interfering with the valves are obviated.
Hi
I have removed the primary outer case on my '57 Dominator, which is pre alternator.
1959 Model 50 - Rebored to + 0.040", new piston/rings, reground valves, new gaskets, meticulously assembled. Rings checked in bore - 0.005"/0.008"gap. Ring gaps staggered at 120 degrees.
The Dommie won't go! I'll blame fuel. It's the easy reason...but if it does work with new fuel, what can I do with about 6 litres of rubbish? My electric lawnmower won't like it.
Hi
I've seen mention of 2 widths of front mudguard. I have added a photo of where mine is rubbing.
Has anyone used one of the Lucas readymade loom
Hi
I have a 57 Dominator with a silver tank.
Currently the mudguards, oil tank etc are all black.
Is this correct and is there any way of finding out what the original colours were for me to use as a guide.
I am ready to re fit the cylinder head on my 1956 Dominator 99 after helicoiling a stripped thread and I have re annealed the copper gasket.
Hi!
Having bought a very nice 1939 Trials ES2, I need a parts list for this model. I presume it had a skid plate under the engine, and need an idea of what this looked like to have one made. Can anyone help?
Has a single 376 Monbloc
current setup is cylinder head/gasket/manifold/gasket/carb
is there supposed to be a Tufnol heat insulator in there?
I need a speedometer for my 1966 Atlas restoration, anyone know if a Smiths SSM5001/00A 1600 is a suitable alternative to the original?
The right hand (when sitting on bike) header pipe on my 74 850 commando has a tighter bend coming out of the head the the left pipe. The left one just comes straight out of the head, the right angles towards the centre of the bike.
GWD569N, 850 Mk2a, where are you now? Previous owner seeking reconciliation !! Last know of in Staffordshire. Now on SORN according to DVLA and current owner since 2012.
Can someone tell me if the two little springs in the mechanical ignition advance unit in the '61 ES2 (it has coil ignition) should be identical?
The unit I received with the bike has two identical springs.
Hi
I have a 1960 Jubilee which needs a new inlet camshaft, do I need the thrust plug or non-thrust plug type?
also what is the actual difference?
Further to the post below which discussed the Compendium. Question, is there a way to print off?
