Dear Members,
On rebuilding a set of Roadholder forks for an ongoing project, I discovered a stanchion lower circlip and bush firmly stuck at the bottom of the L/H fork slider. I've tried several methods of shifting it, but no luck so far. Has anyone had this problem and successfully conquered it?
Any thoughts would be gratefully received.

I had a similar problem some years ago when I foolishly managed to push the top bush down into the bottom of the slider. And it had Loctite on it too! I managed to get it out eventually as there was a small space below the bush and I was able to get an appropriately sized plate through the inner diameter of the bush and place it on its underside so it was spanning the bush. Then I used a punch through the bottom damper locating hole to push it all back up. It took some doing in view of the presence of Loctite but I managed, though I did have visions of having to get a new slider. Assuming yours doesn't have any Loctite it might be easier to remove? Fingers crossed!

Success with the stuck bush. The 100 degree heat and tapping on a hardwood block worked a treat. Many thanks.
It's now a simple matter (hahaha) of rebuilding the Roadholders with some new pattern parts....

Never had this issue but 2 suggestions.
1. Heat the slider to 100C and then with gloves on hit on a large piece of hardwood trying to nudge the bush out.
2. Have a expander on the end of a threaded rod with nuts and tube so you can adjust the expander from outside the slider, expand inside the bush and pull on the rod.
Both could be helped by using a piece of rod into the oil drain plug hole and seeing if it can push the bush up a few mm.
