tool box

Forums
hello,     i thought i would just bore you to death with a couple of photos i took when i repaired my model 7 tool box in the covid years. doing it stop me going around the bend. when i started it i thought of that famous saying, how hard can it be. on starting it i found that the base was rotten and the lower back piece plus the strengthening trim around the edge and lower lid . i straightened the hinge out  and fitted a stainless welding rod in place to act as the pivot. i did all the welding and then had to add filler it to finnish off. i also repaired the battery carrier, not shown. not long after, i found a tool box for sale for £35 on an auction site in good condition . you live and learn. barry.

Hi Barry,  Good job! As you said, it kept you sane, it has kept another (probably original) piece of the bike together and it marks it out as YOURS. Its starting to dry out and warm up so you can get out and enjoy using the bike how it was made to be used. George

Hi Barry,      yes you have done a good piece of work there. Welding has never been my strong point so I always appreciate this aspect of repair/restoration.
