LED Headlamp

Forums
Hi 750 Mkv Interstate with LED Headlight, everything world fine as it should , bake lights indicators , main beam , dip beam warning lights however if the headlamp is on and I push the headlamp flash button the fuse blows this happens when the bike is running and when it it stopped engine not running has anyone experienced this , I have put the standard bulb back in and the fuse does not blow as LED consumes less power this is confusing me

LED has electronics inside.  Perhaps there's a capacitor charging which gives a momentary spike.  What fuse are you using?  Electronic miniature contact breakers as used now in homes and industry come with different sensitivities for each single current rating.  Ordinary old fashioned wire fuses can take high momentary current spikes.  This is both an advantage and a drawback...

I fitted an LED Headlamp to my 650 Dominator but due to it having a Negative Earth had to run that part of the wiring separate from the main charging system. I had to be very careful how all of the lights, dip switch and horn were wired up.

Doubtful if the LED is faulty if it works as a Main and Dip. Does the headlamp flasher work with the lights off? Does the head lamp work as normal on/off? In which case it does look like a 'start up' spike from the main beam circuit in the LED casing over current at the fuse.
