1953 ES2 dualseat
I'm restoring a 1953 ES2 and have a (BMS) copy of the 1950 Norton parts list, together with the supplements for 1951 - 1954. I can't find any mention of the dualseat introduced in 1953 (or even the 1954 dualseat).

My bike has become hard to start and once started, tick over is uneven. But runs well at higher revs.
Hi. I was going to put the head on my 1960 Dommie 99 project's engine just now when I realised that my exhaust pushrods are slightly different. They are the same length and diameter, but one is steel and the other is an alloy.
Still no joy curing my kickstart problem. Has anyone experienced the Kickstarter slipping on compression sounds like the ratchet pawl is jumping the internal teeth on the layshaft 1st gear. Any comments welcome.

Brought this beauty home from the recent Las Vegas collector bike auction, I'm hoping it will run as good as it looks. This will be my first OHC Norton and I'm looking forward to learning its in's & out's. I really hadn't planned on buying
Hi. Is there an optimum length for the metal breather tube that exits from the back of a Dommie 99 crankcase? I bought a new one and the metal tube is about 9 inches long.
I'm trying to fit a new kickstart shaft to my AMC gearbox.
The replacement from RGM is too large a diameter to go through the inner chain case bush. It looks a few mm longer too.
So frustrating!!
Just used some 30 year old paint on some pipework. Amazing colour depth and shine, and did not even need stirring after sitting so long. Does anyone use it on bikes?. Certainly sticks well to hands hair and face.
The various copies of my Norton manuals state that the main jet is #160 but there is no mention of what the needle jet should be ?
AMAL offers 7 different needle jet options for the 276 carb
I'm in the process of sorting out a 1957 M50. As I received the bike it was hooked up as a Negative earth. The wiring diagram for this year shows it as a Positive earth. The wiring is not original and I do not know the history of who's had thei
Evening all. Please be gentle. Newbie Norton owner and first forum post.
I'm looking to add a 'leathered toolbox' / Pannier Bag to my Big 4. I've got hold of a vintage toolbox that has never been fitted to a bike. I've looked at the 1928 parts book and can see a number of parts called;
Hi - the bike's a MkII commando from 1974 and has exhausts connected by a balance pipe. Standard in all other respects except for the large full length ex-police fairing which keeps me nice and warm and dry.

I am rebuilding my 650SS and want to install a side stand. The original has long gone. Unfortunately in the NOC shop the part is out of stock so I am looking at the offerings from Norvil Spares, Andover Norton and RGM.
A Friend of mine in Northampton just sent me the attached photo from facebook.
My Electra doesn't have this part, just a plain push rod. Can anyone tell me where this part fits?
Thanks,

Can anybody shed any light on this situation i have found on putting together a 99 dominator. The gearbox seems to have a lug wider than the engine and the other side of the gearbox.
Unleaded fuel on a Model 7 Norton. I have just rebuilt a 1950 Model 7, untouched since new, so the engine is unchanged. Will I have issues running the bike on unleaded fuel or should I have to make changes or use additives?
I noticed this question of the FB forum.
The gent asked if he should use 0 clearance on his 31 500 OHV Norton as the clearance increases when hot.
My 31 requires .002 In & .004 Exh
Hi could anyone please let me know what Norton single carb manifold will fit an Atlas. I have seen aftermarket one advertised but they appear to only have 2 bolt fixings.
I have just replaced my 850 mk 2 commando kickstart pawl and plunger spring. It turns the engine over no probs but makes a dull thudding noise at the bottom of the swing. Any body any idea what it might be ??
Does anyone know engine number or date when the cover over the rear timing case was replaced with a solid casting. (I am referring to the cover over the early points position).
Thanks
Steve
I'm hoping someone can give me the head diameter and head thickness of the 7 screws which hold the instrument panel onto the petrol tank of the 1930's petrol tanks.
Thanks.
Hi. A while ago I bought a set of (apparently) new old stock Dommie 99 barrels for my Dommie project. I’ve also bought a set of Thunder Engineering conrods.
