Washer on big-end nuts?

Hi there. Still gathering bits for my ES400 as and when funds permit, so the new b/e shells, nuts & bolts arrived today. Looking again at the lightweight engine exploded diagram in the manual, I saw it shows washers under the b/e nuts.

I have a Jubilee Deluxe with a dubious past, it has been upgraded at some point to  12 neg earth, and has a Pazon  Ignition unit, as far as I can tell its never been run ,it was all held together with tape ,twisted wires and cable ties using  fuse

Bevel mesh

The mesh looks fine to my eyes, but all the books have to say is that backlash should be small. Which it is, all the way round.

Wet plugs Jublee

Earlier this year I started my Jubilee for the first time in many years. It now starts first or second kick. The problem I have is that if I switch off the ignition and then try and restart the engine soon after it refuses to start.

Valve caps

My Inter's exhaust valve head is bruised by the tappet. It has no chamfer (oddly?) and I'm going to grind one using a Dremmel before I extract it.

16h valve lifter

I am having trouble understanding how the valve lifter works on a 16H I am restoring. I can't seem to find any pictures clear enough to show the details.

I have a  filter kit  ,bought many years ago  for the 99 , No idea where from.  But would have been one of the usuals.   I did not fit at the time as it did not have the correct fixings  or right size pipes (probably a Commando kit)   ,threw it in

OHC Cammy engine

Hi All,

I have been offered the Manx engine attached. I am told the engine number is BA37869 but I think that is more a casting number!, I maybe wrong on this. Any help as always many thanks

Dominator Brake Shoes

Turning my attention to the brakes on my restoration, both brakes have loose bent steel plates on the brake cam end of the shoes in addition to the steel plates which are part of the brake shoe proper. Please see photo below.
