The mesh looks fine to my eyes, but all the books have to say is that backlash should be small. Which it is, all the way round.

Earlier this year I started my Jubilee for the first time in many years. It now starts first or second kick. The problem I have is that if I switch off the ignition and then try and restart the engine soon after it refuses to start.

Monobloc 376 choke slide is not fully going up still a bit about 5mm still showing is this normal

My Inter's exhaust valve head is bruised by the tappet. It has no chamfer (oddly?) and I'm going to grind one using a Dremmel before I extract it.

Hi. I’ve got a Dommie 99 (1960) primary chaincase that doesn’t have the two sealing disks fitted to the hole where the gearbox mainshaft enters the rear half of the chaincase.

Peter Holland and Tony Ripley seem to be able to post on this forum.

One other member has explained that he tried, and failed to post on this form. He posted on the Lightweight forum instead.

 years ago back in the 1980s I remember looking at Inters and manx nortons at brands hatch and a lot of them had some type of foam inserted through the hairspring valves.

 Was this an attempt to mop up oil leaks ?

I am having trouble understanding how the valve lifter works on a 16H I am restoring. I can't seem to find any pictures clear enough to show the details.

I have been offered the Manx engine attached. I am told the engine number is BA37869 but I think that is more a casting number!, I maybe wrong on this. Any help as always many thanks

The Commando famously has a metric thread for the oil filter, Renault 2CV I know about HOF 101 also Mahle Co5 . Anybody got any others to look out for?

Turning my attention to the brakes on my restoration, both brakes have loose bent steel plates on the brake cam end of the shoes in addition to the steel plates which are part of the brake shoe proper. Please see photo below.

I saw a YouTube video showing a slimline Dominator with a smaller tank and the typical Dominator tank emblems.

I am having trouble sourcing a composite head gasket for the spigotted head/barrel on my  56 Dommie. It has been suggested that there is not such a thing because there is insufficien space between the spigot and the studs.

I see there’s a couple of comments in “parts commissioning” forum (sorry but don’t seem to be able comment there) for lightweight gear levers.
