Amal carb pilot jet opening.
I have carb bodies marked R300 928 and L301 928. In both cases there is no hole for the pilot jet . Please see photos. Is this how they were made ?

I have Chopped Monoblocs, bought them off NOC! Now they were probably fitted to a Triumph before, ( spit into the pontoon), the very mention of the name brings a bitter taste!
1. Do I need to remove the inner primary case from the engine to reinstall the transmission ?
2. If the answer to 1. is "no" how do I position the transmission to mount it to the sub frame ?
On the welcome page is a painting by Ian Cater of a Norton café racer.
I recognise this as my bike and have found the photograph used as a template for the painting.
Original Rodark Panniers were and are still sought after, usually for fitting to a Triumph.
Has anybody fitted them to a Norton particularly to a Dominator ?
George
As reported some time ago, I have since acquiring my 1956 Dominator 99 frequently had problems engaging top gear and it seemed to have a mind of it's own. For the first time I removed the cam plate detent plunger for inspection and it was obvious
I took my 1936/7 model 18 out for a run yesterday. It ran well at speed but was obviously running very rich. The 1.1/16 276 Amal is pretty worn but I think it may have the wrong needle which has 5 settings (like my Commando).
Hi,
I need to replace the fork stanchions on my Electra.
I have attached two photos.
Are these Roadholder Short types?

Can anyone tell me the name of the old boy who made the original Lyta fuel tanks and where he operated?
Hello to all, hope you are well, I have, as title says a Norton Dom 88 1960 slimline and I also have a Norton Dom 99 1959 wideline and while my 99 runs perfectly well the 88 does not have the pulling power it should have.
Will the outer cover from a ‘71 Commando fit to a ‘63 Atlas. Both are AMC2 boxes, and the outer covers and inner shift and kickstart fittings look identical.
My fairly recently acquired bike gets to 50 in third and 60 in fourth. Opening the throttle any further at these speeds has no effect. It also can judder a bit when the throttle is shut down.
Hi all - I finished up my Commando this morning - 1972 750 Combat Roadster.
Hi can anybody tell me should there be a seal on the bearings on the bottom yoke Norton dominator 1956
In an article about a Dominator Deluxe the Owner got the Single Leading Shoe unit it had converted to Twin Leading Shoe with a little engineering acumen.
Looking for replacement 1938 Model 18 set of front hub speedo drive gears. The brake hub is mounted on the left hand side.
Does anyone know where they may be available to purchase ?
I am still in the process of carefully running in my 1956 Dominator 99 after a rebuild of the top end.
Hello
I am new to the ownership of my Dominator 88.
This is my 3rd years of ownership of the bike,
Year 1 used at weekends when the weather was lovley.
Year 2 Not used at all ( tank/carb drained )
I've removed the bolt, and managed to jiggle it lose about 1/2”, but now it’s stopped, and no amount of wiggling or careful levering will move it further. A small puller would likely work, but I don’t have one. Any ideas?
trying to take sprocket off on early gearbox can't budge it any suggestions
Another probing technical question! There is a method in my madness honest.
Noticed the unusual valve cut-out arrangement on the Dominator pistons through the splayed exhaust ports and hence why the pistons have to be Left and right.
had my clutch cable break today , it looks like the top nipple has split in half , think it is routed nicely and not heavy to pull in , possibly a dodgy cable as only done about 1500 miles , has any one had this happen or do you think i hadn't se
After a decent ride out on my 1956 Dominator 99 I get more than my fair share of oil leaks !
