Hello from the other side of the pond
My bike is 72 Commando- original owner
Hi all, 5 weeks ago after 40 years safely avoiding car drivers pulling out in front of me I finally fell victim to a real expert and in avoiding him / her I came off my beloved Navigator breaking my wrist. Very luckily the bike and I only hit th
I am redoing the top end of my 1961 ES2. The question I have concerns the .090 Diameter hole the is drilled on a angle into the base of the cylinder. Is this the so called cylinder oil passage?
I mentioned this a number of years ago - these are available from LAS Aerospace based in Okehampton, Devon and they come with an Airworthiness Certificate (or similar)! Worth considering if you often reach take-off speed over humpbacks!
Hi all,
I've just gained a new project 1955 ES2. This is all new to me since my other Norton's are Commando's. I'm still gaining information and have yet to source a parts book, which I'm sure would help with this question - anyway!...
Hiya,
Okay so I’ve got my new tyres for the old bike. Turns out the one on the rear, they stopped making in the early eighties, so definitely time to renew!
HELP ! Can anyone provide dimensions for the the following parts:
1. H12-2/502 Rear brake pedal pivot bolt (Illustration JZ69 in the parts book).
Can anyone please advise if I can use a trickle charger on my Norton, as its hard-wired without a key isolation, I do not want to damage the electrics.
I am the only owner/rider owner of my 1972 Combat Interstate Commando. My question is about the life of the cam chain and its sprockets. My Norton has ~ 50,000 miles and the chain has been kept in proper adjustment.
MkIII.Out for a run and seems one pot is dropping out when things get hot. I looked for loose connections but same thing. Replaced the plugs mid run,no change. Resistance checked coils, which were very recently new, ok.
I have read that drives for Royal Enfield may work on a Dominator, As they are a fraction of the price of drives for Nortons but possibly made in the same place?? , I am interested,Has anyone any information?.
I recently discovered the shouldered nut on the anti-backfire device has broken in half inside my primary. I'm in the process of accessing the device and when released and inspected I'll order a new nut plus any other parts showing excess wear.
I was quite surprised to see that a nice looking original Jubilee De-Luxe for sale on eBay with a starting price of £1500 did not sell. In fact there were no bids. Did others see something that I did not?
I have a 1972 Norton Interstate Combat Commando. I am the bikes only owner. Been riding her for 48 years.
Hi,
Has anyone on here experienced a lack of email response when attempting to contact the shop/spares email address that is listed?
My left side pipe is very yellowed and has significant bluing patches...probably a result of the previous owner running that cylinder a bit too lean. Who has successfully removed it? How?
I have a lay down g/box and find that the kick start doesn't seem to engage until it's about half way down. I can still start the bike (ES2) but it would be so much easier if I could get a good real swing at it. Any clues as to the prob.
Hi, I want to replace the chromed fork seal holder on my 62 navigator delux, but not sure if the wider roadholder forks are classed as "short roadholders". Can anyone help?
Cheers,
John Braithwaite.
Hi. I’m rebuilding the gearbox outer cover of my Dommie 99 and want to replace the two O-rings (the one that sits between the kickstart bush and the cover and the one that sits between the gear selector shaft bush and the cover).
Hi,
I’m looking for a set of short road holder forks for a Norton Jubilee build, just wondering what the going rate is for these as I have seen some rather high prices ( £800? ).
Gary
I am trying to get the clutch hub off the gearbox shaft on my 99.
It is in position very tightly and there is no way to lever it from behind.
It has an internal thread which obviously takes an extractor tool.
Can anyone tell me how a side-stand should be attached to the frame of my 1961 Navigator De-luxe? Does it bolt on a frame lug? Mine has a main-stand but no side-stand.
I am looking for 7.4 to 1 pistons for my 57 dommie 99.
Hi all, recently purchased a 1975 Mark3 that has been sitting since 2005. Serial number on motor is 325084. Can not find any marking on frame? Will be doing all the correct things to re commision her before attempt a start up.

Re: Original Girling Master Cylinder Reservoir Bellows
Hi all,
Coming to the end of a rebuild of my 750 Commando and have just bought a pair of unused Mk. 2 Amal’s from a friend who does not need them anymore. They are 32 mm as are my ports and are fitted with no.3 slides and 240 main jets.
