Laydown gearbox
Canada calling. The kick starter shaft on my lay down Model 7 gearbox has two grooves which would appear to be for o ring seals. Checking the gearbox diagramme no seals are shown. Should there be a seal? Thanks for your help.

Looking at the prices being charged for tyres that very rarely wear out and often are changed thro age , I see that you can get a pair of Servis tyres including tubes and tapes for half the price of the usual offerings .

Going over the front forks of my recently aquired 650 ,i came across a problem not seen before. A trial fit of axle to forks (without wheel or mudguard ) revealed the axle to not want to go through the offside slider.
Has anyone fitted a 4.10 x 19 rear tyre ? , Looks a little large ,bike is 1963.
When the wider yoke was introduced on the 1964 650SS, did the clocks also gain the twin mount at the same time? Or did the speedo stay in the headlamp and a remote tacho still stay for a while as per earlier models?
Well I`ve had some good advice so far from you blokes so here`s a couple of more questions . I`ve got the whole engine in bits now so will be rebuilding after a long awaited holiday in Australia.
