Something i have not seen before ,wear in the steel ? bush.
The threads in my 650 swinging arm are stripped . I think they are 1/4 cycle . I ordered new adjusters and happily they have turned up larger !. Perhaps my luck is changing . When did they increase the thread size and what is it ?.
Hello.
I’m in the strip down and assessment phase and have so far discovered that my bike is an early 650ss engine in a 1966 88 Chassis with a 99 barrel. The bike was assembled by someone with zero mechanical aptitude.
The horn on my 1963 650SS is a 6v Lucas 8H model. It was on the bike when I got it in 1971 and has an 04/62 date stamp on it so it could be an original part. I cannot get it to work.
I have not owned a 650 SS before and the carb layout and details were a bit of a surprise.
Thought I'd start a topic, in line with Robert's comment recently re keeping the forum going.
Have a 59 dominator 99 restored in mid 90s.
in my last post I was awaiting collection of my new project - my first Norton - a 650ss in an Atlas frame. I was pretty certain the engine is one of the first 650ss from Sept 1962 as the serial number and stamping says so.
