Hi all, I have a Thorspark ignition on my 64 Atlas which I am trying to get going. Everywhere I look a get the timing for fully advanced at 28 to 30 degrees. However, this is if it's running at revs - ie. when the ignition advances.
I think my coil went pop earlier as it came lose and probably shorted out on the frame. Ordered a new battery too as its dead.
Back to the coils, I use a Boyer power box 12v system. So how do I know if the coils are non ballast?
I have just returned from another bedding in run with my recently resurrected 650ss bitsa. I was making progress in top gear on a nice straight road when I noticed extra slack in the clutch cable.
So, please will any purists read no further......On my 88 Cafe racer / track bike I have decided to fit a one-way valve to stop the never-ending flow of oil into the sump when the bike is stationary for even a short period. I have fitted a Velo V
Short roadholders with internal springs being overhauled . Does everyone use 20wt fork oil and whats the capacity ? If measuring air gap do you remove springs and measure with forks compressed ?

What`s the point / reason for the `Paper washers` that are fitted in Norton Roadholder forks ? I see them on all spares lists but have never come across any when I have stripped forks to service them .
