can anyone tell me if an outer alternator primary cover for a dominator would fit on a dynamo inner cover? I'm contemplating fitting an alternator crank into my dynamo engine hahaha

Testing Time
There were numerous versions of both 'outer' and 'inner' primary covers used on the post-war Nortons. At first glance it looks like this could be possible. Though serious consideration would have to be given as to how the Alternator Stator would be mounted. Comparative Covers as below.

Thanks both. I'm keeping it as a dynamo engine. I was hoping the alternator outer would fit a dynamo inner without further mods. Alternatively I'll need to cut down the crank and re thread it short enough to fit in the dynamo type cover.
ive found what looks so far to be a reasonable crank so want to use it if I can.

The way the inner cover is mounted to the crankcase varies anyway. The earlier outer cover looks more triangular than the later.
