I have just become the new owner of an es2 1953 on starting and running the engine there seemed to be excessive amounts of oil coming from the the timing case breather, I removed the cover to se if there were any obvious problems and thought that

What model Lucas magneto came on this bike? The bike stopped running and i found that the ignition system was not working. When i took the cover off the mag i found a small plastic piece in the bottom of the points case.

Is there a trick way to fit the OHC side cover?  The caged rollers need to fit into the outer race in the cover - but the race has sharp edges on mine and it's a frustating, time wasting task.  I can't see any way to wrap thread round the rollers

There's something weird going on with my Model 50. Sometimes a loud screaming sound appears. Bit like a slipping pulley belt, but not as high pitched. More like a rusty lorry brake or a really noise rim brake on an old bicycle.

I see Paul Norman sells valve stem lash caps.  I'm replacing my valves and guides.  I wonder if caps are worthwhile?  Mine are both dented.  Exhaust more than inlet.  I've no idea of their origin.  New ones will be G&S.  If i am to use caps, v

 A novice to all this Norton stuff . Can anyone tell me if the cambox pick attached is for a 350 or 500 engine please. Have a 350 engine with no cambox and found this in a box but have no idea if it is for a 350 engine.
