I fitted a combined charge and low pressure oil warning light and pressure sensor to my 750 a while back.
I'm still searching for a usable Commando in the Yorkshire/Northern area. Most seem to have US spec bars that will be a little too high for me. I know changing bars is easy enough but will the corresponding control cables need to be shortened?
Hi All
I know this is not a technical query but I seek the advice of the Wise Heads to be found hereabouts.
Just received renewal quote from Carole Nash for my 72 Commando. Last year 275 quid
Hi Everyone,
I have just joined the club and hope to buy a Commando in the near future. My current thinking is a left hand gear change model with an electric start. Mk.3?
Hi. 1973 750. Kick starts but only runs for a few seconds then dies. The premier carbs have been cleaned, new petcocks and plenty of fuel in tank. I have tried no choke, a little choke etc but same problem.
For all the valuable advice, help, suggestions and shared experiences. My bike is how I want it to be and running fine. My first Norton, it's put up a bit of a fight in a sort of one step forward, two steps back kind of way.
I got my '74 Interstate on the road today for the first time this year. Rather than lay her up over the winter I have been starting her up and running her up to temperature regularly.
Evening all. When I first bought my Commando a few months ago I couldn't start it. I ended up draining the fuel tank (The petrol looked like Tizer!) and cleaned the carbs. Started and ran no problem. Next job was the gearbox.
Just cleaning the rear wheel and noticed that the metal cover on the speedo cable is (lightly) rubbing on the rear sprocket.
I assume it runs close, but surely there should be a reasonable clearance?
