Is this linked to a registration application outside of the UK ? The maximum all-up weight is not really a concept that was applied to motorcycles in the UK during the 1950s...maximum weight was Mum, Dad, two kids and luggage in a double-adult sidecar !

I have recently seen a document produced for the German authorities regarding a WD16H (which is probably a little lighter than a plunger ES2) and this gives an unladen weight of 160kg with a maximum permitted weight of 350kg...I can only imagine what a 350kg rigid Norton handles like....

It may well be that Norton Deutschland could help you as this seems to be a long-standing requirement in Germany.

Isn't the UK limit for three wheelers set at 8 cwt? (8 hundredweight is 407kg). That will give you plenty of scope for a vast side car although you'd never get up those mountains, and you'd never stop on the way down.
