I haven't used them yet on my M 50, but when I next lift the head I am going to use a series (maybe three or four) 'O' rings. On my M 18 AJS they are recommended by various people on the club site. You would have to measure the hole in the head and the size of the tube to get the correct size, but the seal would have a lot of contact points instead of the tube type.
