4LS Brake

Forums

Hi,

Has anyone got any experience/info regarding fitting a 4LS Robinson front brake into 7 3/8 inch

roadholder forks?

The bearings in the hub are 20mm bore and the dimension between the brake plates is approximately 4 mm greater than the width between fork sliders.

Also need to make brake torque arms if anyone has drawings.

cheers,

Graham

no personal experience , but there is a Triton with that brake for sale somewhere at present, so it can/has been done.

Width of final assembly is most important part, obviously, and 7 3/8 inch yokes may be necessary, depending on brake and how much can be modified with axle spacers, while keeping wheel central, or very close to centre, in forks.

It is quite likely Dave Degens has used these in the past ( has definitely used the 8 shoe version), so could be contacted.   Jan Nelder.

Hi, I believe you need to speak to Andy Molnar, as he is reputed to have taken over the plans. My memory is you machine the bosses each side to fit into the forks. Twin discs are easier to fit using Commando parts. Use a Rose Jointed adjustable torque arm each side. There are pictures on Pinterest to help.
