With all my bikes I always keep an eye on fuel consumption, as much out of curiosity as much as anything else.

Fellow 961ers

A recent thread discussed steering and the tyre pressures and suspension set-up for our 961s. This has brought up something that I've been wanting to tweak on my bike since first riding it back in March.

I recently purchased a Norton Commando 961 SF. This is the fisrt Norton I have ever owned. I previously rode a Yamaha Virago, 2 BMW's, 4 Moto Guzzi's.

I am wondering what the chain is for?

MCN news has a cafe racer feature this week with the 961 under review against the new BMW R nine T, Triumph thruxton and Enfield continental GT.

In May 2014 it will be exactly two years that I bought my new 961 CafÃ? Racer from the Swiss distributor Egli Motorrad Technik AG in Bettwil, Switzerland (EMT) www.egli-racing.ch.

My Cafe Racer is fitted with the short sport "silencers" and has been remapped to suit. In a couple of months it is due for it's first MOT and here in Germany an emissions test is part of the MOT.

I have just replaced the tyres on my bike and I'm now on my third set. Originally it was fitted with Dunlops and when they wore out I replaced with the same Dunlop type.
