Interesting comment about the differences between ring sets for the cast iron cylinders and the nikasil cylinders.
Anyone have any knowledge about what differences in construction of the rings might be?

My limited understanding is that the rings for cast iron cylinders are "softer" than the rings for Nickasil bores which are coated aluminium. So fitting hard rings in a hard bore would create extra wear. Have I got this correct?

I suspect that you will always find someone eagerto discredit Norton if you go looking hard enough David! As I have said before if Iwas unhappy with my 961 I would sell it and get something else. I know I would not have any problems getting a good price for it.
