Wideline sidestand length

Forums

Can anyone tell me the length of the sidestand leg (for a wideline) please? I would like to know the length from the 'foot' to the pivot and also the length from the pivot to the spring lug.

The reason I ask is that I have acquired what I think is the correct stand butI wanted to check (bike is not currently on its wheels so I can't try it out yet).

Thanks

Hi Colin, I have a sidestand - original off my 1955 wideline 88 - which measures approx 8" from the centre of the pivot to where the stand touches the floor, and 7/8"from the centre of the pivot stud to the spring mount - in a direct line across the centre of the clamp

.The side of the standclampwhere the spring mount protrudes has a boss that locates against the engine plate , the stand assembley is easier to be fitted before the engine plates, but not fully tightened until the enginea and plates are in situ!

hope this is helpful

Thanks Terry - that's really useful. Mine looks to be the correct length but the bore of the frame clamp is a bit too small - I'm going to look into boring it out.
