Wideline Featherbed frame

Forums

I have a '59 wideline featherbed frame on an 88,The top rails of the frame under the seat truncate just after the top of the shocks. also it looks as though there is two smaller diameter tubes brazed in the ends, what i would like to know is, was this standard or is it a mod sombody has done, and what goes on/in here.

Also the frame has had the centre stand lugs removed would any body know the correct postion or measurement for me to put them back again. Any information would be gratefully recieved.

I include a pic to clarify my question.

Attachment shows bottom half of a Slimline Frame. The mainstand position on a Wideline is roughly the same.

Your frame has lost about 2 inches of the tubing near each of the top suspension mounts.. The problem you may find is that moisture has got inside the frame. I suggest inserting a good dose of a rust inhibitor.
