I bought a fully restored Commando Mk 3 electric start at the end of last year. Apart from a couple of starts, it has been garaged since November.
I am now having trouble starting it and wouldnât mind giving it a full service before I put it on the road proper. This is probably sacrilege, but it has been a long time since I tinkered with a bike, so can anyone recommend a mobile mechanic who wouldnât mind me watching the routine, just until my confidence increases? I currently live in South London. Michael

Charge the battery and also drain the sump of excess oil, get rid of the old stale petrol (stick it in the car, and in future do the same to any fuel older than 2 weeks unless in a sealed container, your Nortons petrol tank is not sealed but breathes through a hole in the cap, the thin stuff needed for cold starts dissappears in 2 weeks or so.)
Then try starting again.
