Norton cobbled up the swinging arm frame from the plunger frame in a hurry to keep up with the move to swinging arm frames but as the Featherbed frame was selling big time never worried themselves to change the pedal...I guess they had a few hundreds already made and wanted to use them up.

The last photo is of a plunger framed pedal....not sure if it different apart from being chromed?...This one appears to have been bent outwards to clear the exhaust pipe and problem as I mentioned above:

PS with closer inspection I can see the plunger version IS different...NOTE the sharper curving at the pivot position:

Thankyou Les, yes i think you are right about the chrome one in the third picture, where it is welded to the collar it is slightly higher to give more clearance from the exhaust, now my next question is would you know where i would be able to obtain one from or be able to put me in touch with anyone that may have one, i have only just joined the NOC and not very good with computers !.
