Recently bought a Cammando that has been restored but not used for the last 10 years. I find that with the engine running I can only select neutral coming down from 2nd and only when on the move. When stopped all gears and neutral can be selected easily. I have cleaned the clutch plates which are new (Surflex) instaled a new cable, replaced the springs in the outer cover, rebuilt carbs and have a nice steady tickover, gears all select when riding but neutral difficult to find. What am I missing? John C.

There also a few other threads dealing with gearbox problems. Lots of good advice available. Just enter the words that are relevant to your difficulties.
What you mean by the "Springs in the outer cover", ?

Bob these are the 3 springs that operate the selectors. on the footchange. I have spent some time looking for a previous thread in the archives but nothing on selecting neutral. All of the gears select when riding but not at standstill with engine running, Everything works perfectly when the engine is not running.
