Interesting Norton special

Forums

Hi gang,

I saw this on eBay USA this morning:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Norton-NORTON-COMMANDO-COMMANDO-1962-NORTON-COMMANDO-ISOLASTIC-FEATHERBED-/170694053015?pt=US_motorcycles&hash=item27be288c97#ht_932wt_1072

very interesting special. Note the engine specs, this guy isn't cutting any corners & the $23,000 USD (14,480 GBP) probably isn't a bad value considering the cost of materials & labor involved.

I find myself drawn to older & older Nortons lately, but I can really appreciate the forethought, time & money that goes into some of these custom bikes. It takes someone with a lot ofvision& a lot of cash!

Hi Skip'

I agree, this is a very special Norton. A lot of work has gone into this bike. Pity we didn't see it at the International Rally!

Alan

Interesting. I don't think the other two Featherlastics I have seen used the Commando cradle. It looks as if there might be two approaches to this. Randy Ullery - are you out there to let us know?
