Spanner to fit large hexagon cover nut at base of inter vertical drive tube

Forums

Removing the rocker box from my 1955 490cc M30 inter has come to a halt. I cannot find a suitable open end spanner to undo the cover nut at the base of the vertical drive tube. Does anyone know where I can get one from. The size is (I think) 1.1/2" AF same as twin sump plug size

But measured across the jaws is 1.5" so the AF size would probably be fine. I'm fairly sure I bought my spanner from Bacons Dozen but I don't see it listed on the website now. It would still be worth calling Kevin Bacon as he says he has a large stock of used imperial tools that are not listed on the site. For contact details see website below.

....does the trick and is much easier on the nut. AN -16 is the correct size.

What's an AN wrench?

" AN Wrenches are made from aluminum and are ideal for assembling AN hose ends & protecting the finish on AN hose ends while servicing your vehicle. Each wrench is sized to work with the appropriate size Hose end to prevent over-torquing your plumbing. "

And you really don't want to over-torque your plumbing.

AN 16

I didn't know about AN wrenches. That looks like the right tool for the job, and almost certainly cheaper than buying a traditional spanner in that size.
