I recently acquired a pair of styling panels for my Navigator. How are they fitted? The parts list tells me there is a grommet, I'm guessing for the top fixing? The bottom fitting looks like it is held be the swinging arm spindle, a second nut
Has anyone measured the force needed to pull the handlebar clutch lever to open the clutch?
If someone has what force was needed.
Learning as I go, I have discovered that camshaft timing side bushes are flanged (part No 22925) and drive side bushes are non flanged (part No 20772A).
Any suggestions who to contact re fastening nut/bolt/studs? My bike was bought 'complete' but is far from & I'm struggling to find odd bits.
TIA Andy
Anyone any experience with speedo drives? is the number specific to the bike or generic? Mine's not working (think the worm drive's gone ) number's BG5330/247 2:1 - can find others that look similar but have different numbers
Work proceeds on the (early type) gearbox of the Navigator. I've just had a look at the foot change fittings. All is well except for the alignment of the ratchet and pawl. The attached photos show best and worst conditions.
Just been having a look at the sleeve gear, in good shape but there may be a time it needs replacing due to excess wear. The only serviceable components are the bushes the gear rotates on. Worn gear teeth cannot be "fixed",
Just started looking at the gearbox in my Navigator, its the early type.
There are some shims in the gearbox, see the first photo.
They were fitted as follows.
1- on mainshaft adjacent to sleeve gear.
Anyone know the size of the roller bearing that supports the sleeve gear bearing in the later type of gearbox (Electra etc)?
Also what is the centre distance between between main and lay shaft in that gearbox?
Thanks,
John
