I'm old and easily confused... None more so that when I'm trying to figure out the correct rim and tyre sizes I should be using on my mid '60s 650SS project. I have the hubs... That's a good start, but they need rims lacing on to them.
I have been helping another old contact who has envied my old bikes and bought a bike to re-kindle those old memories . He has little mechanical ability so has given his bike to an "expert".
I am interested in buying either a model 50 or an 88 but feel that I ought to be able to try one out especially to see if my strength allows me to kick start. Can anyone advise me how I can do this please.?
The thick gasket between the intake manifolds on my Atlas is paper. Would someone know a good source for these and what material should it be?
The inner bolt that bolts the carb to the head on my Atlas is an Allen bolt, is this correct?
Does anyone know a way of fitting a side stand to a 650SS Norton without having to take the engine and gearbox out please. I have been told in the past that this can be done. Thanks, Ken
Were Dommie conrods polished at the factory? I have an old pair which are not polished and have fettling marks across the edges. The ones in the 88SS are polished. I wonder if that was by previous owner?
