See you in Ireland (fingers crossed)

This afternoon I took my Model 19 rigid for a pre Ireland test run, and I am pretty happy with it. Just got to put the camping gear and luggage on it now.

Looking forward to seeing the usuall faces there and hopefully we we will all have a trouble free trip.

Hi Peter

Spent most of today trying to set the ignition timing on the 19S. Not totally convinced that I have it right yet. This is the bike I am planning to bring to Wicklow as it can carry pillion & luggage (just about!). I think you were at the INR in Belgium when I managed to mis-fuel the 19S with paraffin (advice: look for an octane rating on the pump). If I don't get this bike sorted by mid-week plan B is the CS1, which can cope with pillion or luggage but not both. I know this is heretical but that would probably mean using the trailer, unless I come alone.

Hi, Ian

yes we had been to some auto jumble guys house to buy some spares we needed. I needed a 3 1/2 air slide as mine had broken in Ghent

He wasn't in when we got there, but his wife invited us in for coffee and to introduce us to their ducks in the garden pond.

Rallying eh? There is always a surprise in store or two

There rs no shame in bringing a bike on the trailer. We all have problems of one sort or another.

Just be there.

Sorry we didn't manage to talk in Wicklow. It was a good rally, but a little disappointing for me as the CS1 lost the spark on Friday evening so I didn't get riding at all. Instead I followed the run through the Wicklow Mountains in the car (with trailer just in case anyone needed it but happily they didn't). Well done to Gino, Martin and all the rest of the team in Wicklow. Anyone heading north today towards the ferries from Belfast or Larne would not have had a great run. The weather got steadily colder and wetter and the wind was picking up too. By the time I got home (Co. Antrim) the temperature was down to 7 degrees. Hope the ferry crossings were not too rough!
