Hi David,

If it's a 54 it won't be a plunger frame, it will be a swingarm frame commonly called a pre-featherbed. The difference is important because the stands are not the same.

The correct stand will be very difficult to find because it was only made for three years and is different to that used on the ES2/19S/Model 50. While the stand for the singles will fit it will be a pig to use because the silencers are in the way. The factory part lists incorrectly state the stand for the singles as being the same, it isn't!

The rear brakelever is easier because it was used on the singles too. The part number is H12/498 for this and if you do shows in the UK you'll find one.

Thank you Jim I got the date wrong it is a 1952 and I have just finished rebuilding the rear plungers. bit of a job on your own to refit them.

I have three Nortons that I am rebuilding and I am new to this. they were my Farther in laws but he has passed away. I have a 99 complete and a 77 needing a few parts, but I have started on the Model 7. The only parts that I need are the centre stand the exhausts (I do have a set but they need replacing) and the rear brake although I have a pedal that will fit for the time being.

In my farther in laws garage there is a large collection of Norton parts which I need to sort out and place some parts for sale once I know what they are.

I thank you again for your help.
