Hi, I need to clean out the threads in my 72 750 cylinder barrel, the ones for the 4 bolts beside the spark plugs and the one front centre. Can anyone tell me what the threads are so I can buy a set of taps. Cheers. Billy.

Hello there William
The bolts are part nos. 06.0401 (4 long ones) and 06.7918 (single short one).
I've checked this reference:
http://www.rgmnorton.co.uk/csi/1245184/f/pdf/cylinder_head_kit_notes.pdf
And this one http://stainlessbits.com/link12a.html for 06-0401
The bolts are 3/8" x 26tpi CEI or BSC (BSCy) threads.
Hope this helps

If you just want to clean out threads file a v into an old bolt turning it into a chasser. You can then clean out the threads with it without removing any material. You can then fit new bolts.
