Has anybody ever glued the pads back on that come loose on a clutch plate. and if it can be done what would one use. tight arse lol

Its not for the normal clutch plate but the main bonded one that is a bit pricey. been collecting bits here and there and probably got enough parts for 2 or 3 clutches now and seems a shame to dispose of a part that could live on. after all thats what renovation is about.

Would have to be well de-greased first , and maybee the surfaces roughened up slightly, nothing ventured nothing gained.I attempt a repair on just about everything ,as long as its safe to use. The larder fridge was condemmed as not worth repair by the professionals about 3 years ago, the repair cost nothing,it works better now than it ever did and uses about half the power.£500 a new one. The washing machine is at least 15 years old ,repaired 3 times . Its a way of life.

Greetings, recently a colleague who restores 'Military Vehicles' had a dilemma with friction material on some non- motorcycle clutches. This was resolved by a local brake specialist (unfortunately in South Australia) who cleaned, degreased & bonded new material into the housings and linished to OEM specification. Since replacement, the vehicle has never driven so well, so maybe this is an area to investigate?

I couldn't get a chainwheel for my AMC clutch, same as the Norton bar Comando, a chap from Australia suggested aralditing a couple of tractor pto plates to it,I had to turn them down to fit but did as he suggested, been on the machine 6 yrs now and never given any problem, total cost around £30 inc. kind regards
