Hi all
Does anyone out there have any details of the early 1933 handlebars that had the straight pull throttle and inverted levers fitted. I have a cut off section of handlebar to help me but its not enough. The parts book shows me parts but is not to clear to me. Any help, thoughts or pictures would be a great help. I know I will have to make some of the parts, but that's all part of the fun. Thank you for your interest, kind regards

Early 1933 Handlebars
Hello Colin
Thank you for replying and leaving some scanned information, that will certainly help in my understanding of how they work. I see from the pictures the main piece that does the work is the slotted barrel as it pulls on the cable. It is this interaction with the other parts that makes it a fiddly thing to work out. Thank you for your input, Kind regards

Hi Charles
I have this system on my BSA. I am not sure if they are AMAL or BSA but I am sure they are similar. I copied and made the sliding parts and I found the twistgrip.
The original twistgrip was rolled from flat sheet. I think that the slide grooves were punched prior to rolling them. This would become a helix when rolled.
Picture attached is from the BSA
