I can't speak for the exact…
I can't speak for the exact 1960s Dominator shade but I have sprayed my 1970s Commando tank, and used the same paints on several 500 singles..
A close match to the Commando silver is BL Silver Leaf/Birch from the 1960s-70s. Ford Silver Fox 1969-72 is virtually the same if a shade stronger, but any difference is very slight.
I always felt that the Commando silver was slightly weak and wanted something with more tone so mixed 25% VW/Audi Zinngrau 1983-96 with 75% Ford Silver Fox. I really like the result but in a line up of silver Commandos I guess you would struggle to see a difference.

Same question for Atlas Red
Same question for Mid 60’s Atlas red, looking for modern day equivalent. I think the post office red advised for 50’s Dommies is too red. I think a Candy Apple was one option for export, looking for a solid red colour as was used on 88SS, 650SS from ‘65 onwards

As per the parts book
As per the 1966 and later parts book the only red tank listed was Candy Apple Red for "the Atlas"

Polychromatic?
Hi Anna. I know we've spoken about it years ago but are you saying that tinted lacqueur is available again? That's what "Polychromatic" was but I didn't think it was available any more. My 1955 '88' was the metallic grey poly (silver base coat) and my 1957 Raleigh Palm Beach Tourist push-bike was red polychromatic - when the top coat chipped it was silver underneath. With that finish you didn't need a clear top coat for metallics like you do nowadays. Mistake I have seen on many restored bike with a metallic finish but no clear coat. It's essential to prevent oxidisation of the metal.

Ford Silver Fox is an excellent match to the original.
