I am at the point of adding decals to my new tank and refurbished side panels. I looked around to try figure out if measurements exist for the correct location for a ‘72 Commando Roadster 750. I have several photos of other roadsters and many look different and also it’s difficult to know what is most original. Can anyone help me?
Note: when I got the bike the side panels had no decals due to damage and the bike had a fibre glass tank and I now have a steel one.
Thanks in advance.

Thanks Richard. I also did a bit of searching after your pointer.

Brochures.
They're nice scans. I couldn't do better than that. Worth looking at 1971 and 1973 as well.

The Roy Bacon 'Norton Twins Restoration' book is very good for original factory or period roadtest close-ups. The brochures can be a help too, but I suspect that they were originally placed by eye so they do vary a little.
If you're not doing black then you have no lines to worry about, but it's best to stand the bike on its wheels as the horizontal lines on side panels particularly are not the correct datum for the transfers.
Do you have a '72 brochure ? What colour have you chosen ?
