A handy gadget

Forums

i've just sent off for a digital voltmeter that plugs into a cigarette lighter socket from ebay for about £2.50 inc p&p I know most bikes don't have cigarette lighters but I sent off for one of those too. They are a handy way of plugging things in such as heated grips, battery charger, GPS, Phone charger, pump for you air bed/inflatable companion etc.

I have had an LED that changes colour and that too is good but this is simpler to get a direct reading from. Christmas is coming, make a good stocking filler!!!!

David,

Both units have their usage. When riding you don't want to be looking at numbers and asking your self what does 13.95 mean? So in this case a RED or GREEN or even a STRAWBERRY will tell you instantly where you are. But at the same time when wanting to know that bit more after a repair or change of part then getting the number is useful. PS we have one for use in the camper so check Leisure battery and Main battery and state of charge etc

By the way they can emit interference into the car radio (in the car not bike!)

Have Fun, Al Osborn.
